It seems like no one can agree on anything these days — even groups of people who say they support the same cause can’t seem to resist in-fighting and name-calling when one person in the group has a slightly different perspective than the others.
One thing’s for sure: humans have solved huge problems before, and we can do it again. But if we want to see real changes for the better, we need to quit nit-picking each other and use our combined energy to push things in a positive direction.
Some people are more likely to start revolutions than others. Even if you’re not brave enough to take the first step, though, looking to astrology and your daily horoscope can tell you how you can contribute to the causes you believe in.
The planets Pluto and Uranus are both linked with the energy of revolution and change. Pluto works internally, forcing us to confront things about ourselves and our personal lives that require transformation.
Uranus is an external force, creating havoc and chaos in the social and cultural environments. Uranus pushes humanity to evolve by forcing us to deal with problems both locally and globally. While this often manifests as conflict and even violence, this planet is also associated with technology and innovation — as we create new problems, we also create new ways to fix them.
The positions of Pluto and Uranus in a full natal chart will tell you a lot about the zodiac signs who will start a revolution. The Sun sign is just one part of a zodiac chart, but since the signs have varying amounts of passive or assertive energy, we can use them to gauge these general tendencies in everyone.
Not everyone can be a leader, but we can all play an important part to create positive changes in the world.
1. CANCER (June 21 – July 22)
Cancer’s emotions run deep, but they tend to be most concerned with their own private property and those closest to them.
You probably won’t find Cancer out on the front lines of the protest, but they’re definitely working for change on the home front, making sure that everyone in their family understands how important it is to stay vigilant.
2. GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)
Always in tune with the mood of those around them, Gemini isn’t likely to take the lead when it comes to prodding a group to take action in a new direction.
But when things do heat up, Gemini’s ability to understand and communicate with lots of different people makes them a valuable team player when it comes to convincing other people to join the movement.
3. TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)
Like Cancer, Taurus is mostly focused on their own territory and dislikes upheaval in their lives. But when their security is threatened, their reaction is fierce and formidable.
Taurus might not be at the forefront of change, but they’re a valuable, powerful ally when they see what needs to be done to preserve their own space.
4. CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)
The sudden, transformative energy of Uranus is in direct opposition to Capricorn’s methodical long-term planning. Capricorn does not care for chaos or surprise changes in direction.
However, once Capricorn is convinced that change is called for, they make excellent strategists and can turn naïve idealism into realistic goals.
5. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)
Sagittarius is full of big ideas and high-minded philosophy. Some of these ideas aren’t going to go anywhere, since Sagittarian brainstorming doesn’t usually take reality into account.
But they sure do talk a great talk, and they always seem to have creative ways of getting their point across. If Sagittarius can stay focused on one goal long enough, they’ll eventually attract attention from people who can help take it farther.
6. SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)
Scorpio is a one-person revolution in themselves. They’re not the type to get up on a soapbox and whip a crowd into a frenzy, or confront their oppressors in a physical fight.
Scorpio is always paying attention, though, finding their opponent’s flaws and exploiting them to her own advantage. One Scorpio acting alone can make a big difference for their entire community.
7. LEO (July 23 – August 22)
Charismatic Leo is more comfortable on stage than working in the background, but they’ll make a great spokesperson or figurehead for any activist group with whom they genuinely agree.
We always talk about Leo’s big ego, but don’t forget that they want the best for everyone else, too. A Leo who’s truly vested in her cause will promote it with such passion that their audience can’t help but get on board.
8. LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)
Libra the Diplomat would rather negotiate than fight any day — they hate any imbalance of power, and they’re at their best when they can help two sides negotiate a peaceful resolution.
However, sometimes this isn’t possible, and for Libra, equality is always more important than peace. When talks break down, Libra is the first to step up to take the fight to the next level. Balance will be restored one way or another.
9. VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)
A passive sign, Virgo can’t abide the chaos and aggression of an angry mob. But revolution isn’t always noisy: analytical Virgo is an expert when it comes to pointing out where things aren’t right, and they don’t let it go until the problem gets fixed.
Virgo might not join an angry crowd, but they’re doing the research and drawing attention to the issues that get the crowd fired up in the first place.
10. PISCES (February 19 – March 20)
You might not expect dreamy, gentle Pisces to be a revolutionary. Usually they’re happiest when everyone is getting along.
But Pisces can’t help picking up on others’ emotions and pain, so when things get bad and people around the anger around them escalates, Pisces quickly reaches the breaking point — they’ll be the first to demand action and solutions.
11. ARIES (March 21 – April 19)
Impulsive, confrontational, and stubborn, Aries is at the front of the protest march, shouting the loudest. They’re not afraid to let their opinions be known, and if things get violent, well, what else did anyone expect?
Aries is a leader and a fighter. Once they adopt a cause, they don’t stop until the issue is history.
12. AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)
This sign is sometimes called “the Humanitarian,” and they certainly live up to it. For Aquarius, revolution is a way of life.
They’re always on the leading edges of social movements and invention. Aquarius has a clear vision of all the wonderful ways that the human race could evolve in the future, and they often dedicate their lives to promoting these changes right now, in the present.
Trudi Mentior grew up in Great Falls, Montana, where she spent her formative years wondering just what might be beyond those vast plains, on the other side of those distant mountains. She now lives in Vancouver, Washington, with her husband, three cats, and a loudmouthed hyacinth macaw (who loves to scare the cats).
